Lincoln best US President, Bush ranked 32

Washington, Feb 17: Former United States President Abraham Lincoln was ranked as the best President in a survey conducted among the 65 historians. In a survey conducted by C-SPAN channel, Abraham Lincoln, the first US President, George Washington and 'new deal' architect Franklin D Roosevelt were ranked the top 3 out of the 42 men who led the country.

Meanwhile, the former US President George W Bush, who left office last month after 8-year tenure was ranked 36th, just ten spots behind Richard Nixon, who quit the post after the Watergate scandal exposed him. George Bush got the 41st rank in regard to international relations, in economic management he was placed 40th. He got his highest rank, that is 24th in having 'pursued equal justice for all'.

Vijayawada, May 23: Renowned medical science writer Dr G Samaram has been invited to participate in a three-day Global Health Conference (GHC) at Washington commencing from May 29. Informing this to UNI here, Atheist centre executive director Dr G Vijayam said experts from nearly 100 countries would take part in the international conference to discuss the burning problems relating to health, preventive and curative. Japan freezes Iranian assets over nuclear plan

Tokyo, May 18: Japan decided today to freeze the assets of more Iranian individuals and institutions in line with United Nations sanctions aimed at persuading Tehran to stop nuclear enrichment, which could be used to make an atomic bomb. Fifteen Iranian individuals and 13 institutions designated by a UN resolution as being involved with Iran's nuclear programme will be added to a list of those whose assets have already been frozen, the government said......
