New Delhi, Feb 13: Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav presented the interim railway budget 2009 on Friday, Feb 13.

Since 2004, Lalu has presented budgets for the UPA government and he is popularly known for presenting 'aam admi' budgets. He is also known for generating income, by keeping low fairs for the railway.

The interim budget is expected to be in favour of comman man.Reports suggest that Lalu has promised to increase the total number of 'garib raths' (air-conditioned trains for poor) in the new budget.

NDA stages walkout, Railway Budget put on hold

New Delhi, Feb 26: Opposition National Democratic Alliance today disrupted the Rail Budget presentation by Railways Minister Lalu Prasad to force the Government to come out with its explanation on the suppression of the news of detention of Italian fugitive Ottavio Quattrocchi wanted in connection with the Bofors kickbacks case.Parliament has been adjourned till noon as NDA stages walkout.This was decided at a meeting of NDA leaders chaired by Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha.....
