Now Google Phone Search in Mumbai-Banglore
Bangalore, Feb 6: Google extends its pilot project of 'Google Phone Search' to Mumbai and Bangalore from Thursday, Feb 5. Through this, the users can call a toll free number and search for local businesses or movie showtimes. Google first implemented this option to the users of Hyderbad and Delhi.

Users can use the same toll free number 1-800-41-999-999. Google said it believes that speech recognition and voice access to information is a very important technology for India because it helps to reach users who may not have access to PC or are on the move all the time.

Orkut bans Indian Mujahideen community

New Delhi, Sep 26: Google's social networking site Orkut on Thursday, Sep 25 banned a community named as 'Indian Mujahideen'. This move came after the Saturday, Sep 13, 2008 serial blasts in New Delhi allegedly carried out by a terror outfit named Indian Mujahideen. A Google spokesperson said: "Google strongly condemns illegal activities and those that encourage terrorism and violence."
