New Delhi, Feb 3: Dalai Lama was discharged from a hospital in New Delhi on Tuesday, Feb 3 stating that the minor pain he complained in his arms was caused by a pinched nerve. The 73-year old spiritual leader who underwent three hours of medical tests on Monday, Feb 2 was feeling better after a good night's sleep in a hotel and would return immediately to his northern Indian headquarters, said Tenzin Takhla.
Off late he had a number of health problems that have come in the way of his busy schedule of international travel to teach Buddhism and highlight the Tibetan struggle for more autonomy under Chinese rule.
In Oct, he had surgery to remove gallstones, while in Aug he was admitted to a Mumbai hospital and underwent tests for abdominal discomfort. His aides said then he was in good condition, but doctors advised him to cancel a planned trip to Europe and rest, saying he was suffering from exhaustion.
