Palin activates 2012 presidential bid by launching her political action committee

Juneau (Alaska, US), Jan.28 (ANI): With her eyes firmly set on launching a presidential bid in 2012, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has created a political action committee, SarahPAC.

PACs are groups - regulated by federal law -- that use donations to influence elections. The basic rules are that donors may contribute up to 5,000 dollars per PAC per year.

According to CBS, the PAC's Web site is pretty sparse, offering some political boilerplate ("Our country, founded on conservative principles and the fight for freedom, must confront the challenges of the 21st century with integrity, innovation, and determination"), several shout-outs for energy independence, a form to sign up for e-mails and, pivotally, a place to donate.

She is expected to address the Conservative Political Action Committee meeting in Washington next month.

According to Politico, SarahPAC is "dedicated to building America's future, supporting fresh ideas and candidates who share our vision for reform and innovation."

"As a new president takes office and begins to lead our country, Gov. Palin believes that every one of us has a duty and responsibility in this time of economic crisis and international challenge," reads a statement regarding the PAC's launch.

"Each one of us must step up to the plate, get involved in the spirit of renaissance and renewal that is critical to America's success," the statement adds.

The post office box for the PAC is located in Arlington, Virginia, and the phone number listed has a Washington, D.C.

The "about Sarah" section of the site runs through highlights of Palin's term as governor, but makes little mention of her time as GOP presidential nominee John McCain's running mate. The website notes that Palin is the PAC's official chair.

The website has no mention of her future political plans or candidates she supports. (ANI)

Palin irked with media reports of her comments on Caroline Kennedy

Washington, Jan 10 (ANI): Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has expressed her annoyance with the media reports regarding her comments about Caroline Kennedy.Palin stressed the fact that she was not talking about Kennedy running for office, but rather about the biased way the media would often choose to report on the candidates."I was not commenting at all on Caroline Kennedy as a prospective U.S. senator, but rather on the seemingly arbitrary ways in which news organizations determine the level.....
