Kalyan Singh quits BJP
Lucknow, Jan 20: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Kalyan Singh on Tuesday, Jan 20 announced his resignation from all posts. In a press conference called here, Kalyan said that he is hurt by the way BJP sidelined him. This is the second time he is quiting from the party.

He said, "I am not out of politics. I am not forming any new party either." When asked about joining Samajwadi Party, Kalyan said that nothing is finalised. Despite his reservation about Ashok Pradhan contesting from Bhulandeshwar, party gave him the ticket. "My opinion was diregarded, which hurt me," he said. He accused BJP of sidelining senior leaders.

Kalyan Singh said that he felt suffocated in BJP. He also added that Pradhan will not get votes if he contested from Bhulandeshwar. Regarding SP ticket offer to his son Rajbir Singh, Kalyan said that he did not ask ticket for his son. Also more decisions are in the making and will be announced later.

With nation gearing for Lok Sabha Polls, a senior leader like Kalyan Singh quiting the party is set to have profound impact in BJP.

BJP releases chargesheet against UPA
