Obama plans to reach voters directly with a 'paparazzi presidency'

London, January 18 (ANI): Barack Obama is said to be drawing plans to make use of a "paparazzi presidency", based on his interviews and appearances in glossy magazines, to let his political messages reach voters directly.

According to Democratic strategists, aides of the President-elect were considering using his celebrity appeal to set a new trend in politics and preparing further to mobilise his huge following, reports the Telegraph.

Drawing upon the public's unquenchable appetite to know more about the Obamas, the team was pondering over offering snaps of the new first family and interviews with glossy magazines to remain stable at the popularity charts and assist in selling his plans directly to middle America.

Chris Lehane, who had been Al Gore's spokesman in the 2000 election campaign, explained to Politico, the magazine which pened the term '"paparazzi presidency": "If you're able to communicate through those outlets, you're able to reach more people more quickly, without your message being 'translated' by the traditional gatekeepers."

Gary Morgan, a British journalist who runs Splash News, amongst the largest paparazzi agencies in the world, added Obama has a "canny media team" who are "going to take full advantage of using people like us as well to get the message out". (ANI)
