Bus rolls down gorge, 11 killed in Doda
Kara Gandoh, Jan 18: At least 11 people were feared dead and 15 others injured as a bus rolled down a road and fell into a gorge in Doda district on Saturday, Jan 17.

The vehicle was on its way from Thathri to Gandoh.The accident took place at Kara Gandoh, some 218 km (136 miles) from Jammu, the winter capital of the state. Eyewitnesses said that the bus fell while negotiating a sharp curve.

"Fifteen people are critically injured and nine lost their lives. The vehicle slipped on the turn as another vehicle was coming from the other side," said Nazir Ahmad, an eyewitness. Nine people reportedly died on the spot and two lost their lives on the way to the district hospital in Doda.

Village faces shortage of fodder due to snowfall

Srinagar, Jan 31: Concerned over the acute shortage of feed and fodder because of heavy snowfall and minus 20 degree Celsius temperature, the authorities in Leh has decided to constitute a Task Force (TF) to meet the challenge. The Task Force would conduct a survey of the areas where reports about shortage of feed and fodder for live stock has been reported. Meanwhile, the Air Force and Army authorities would be requested to arrange air dropping of fodder in the areas.....

Five injured in Kashmir highway accident

Srinagar, Jan 31: Five people were injured in two separate road accidents on Srinagar-Jammu national highway, official sources said today. They said two people were injured, when a car collided head-on with a truck near tool post at Qazigund on the highway. Three others were injured in similar accident at Pampore on the highway.The injured were admitted to hospitals, they added. UNI.....
