London, Jan 14 (ANI): A blue-fronted Amazon parrot, who attacked its owner's husband in fits of jealousy, has been put on antidepressants to help her cope with unrequited love.
The seven-year-old parrot is besotted with owner Joyce Greenslade, 43, and went into a rage whenever her husband Stephen went close to her, reports the Sun.
Chico would swoop down and peck at him with its claws as well as flapping its wings and letting out a loud parrot 'scream' as a warning.
The couple, from Cullompton, Devon, took their beloved pet to a vet who referred her to parrot 'shrink'.
Now the neurotic parrot has been put on the bird equivalent of Prozac and started on a behavioural course to combat her jealousy. (ANI)
