'Reduce Indo-Pak tension'
Islamabad, Jan.11: Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari met foreign diplomats here and urged them to diffuse the simmering tension between India and Paksitan, on Saturday, Jan 10.

Zardari met Islamabad based foreign envoys from the United States, China, UK, France and Russia over dinner, and asked them to tone down India-Pakistan tension through effective diplomacy, The Nation reported.

“The international community should take into account the challenges which Pakistan is facing at its eastern and western borders and help reducing tension in the region," Zardari said.

He assured the foreign envoys that Pakistan is fully devoted towards eliminating terrorism from the region and that it would never allow use of its soil for any of the terrorism activities. “Pakistan would never allow the terrorists to use its soil for their nefarious designs. Islamabad would not compromise with the terrorists," Zardari said.

Zardari stated that Islamabad is fully co-operating with India in the Mumbai attack probe and it will act strictly if any one is found guilty in the terror attacks. “Pakistan will take strict action against anyone or any group found guilty in the terror attacks on Mumbai. We want the issue to be resolved peacefully through bilateral dialogue," he said.

Zardari also met the Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan Satya Pal Sharma and discussed regional situation with him. However, spokesman to the President, Farhatullah Babar, denied reports about Zardari urging the diplomats to reduce the tension between India and Pakistan,
He said that President Zardari did not make any such statement.
