New Delhi, Jan 9: Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has announced end of three day strike by oil public sector units officials. BPCL said that the striking workers have joined back on Friday, Jan 9 afternoon. Supply will be normalised by Monday, Jan 12.
"BPCL workers have called off the strike. HPCL (Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited) is working fully," Petroleum Secretary RS Pandey said in New Delhi.
"Over 70 per cent of the people have resumed work in marketing. By Friday, Jan 9 evening, we will be able to resume fuel supply at all locations. To make up for the backlog we would work on Saturday and Sunday too," BPCL Director (Marketing) S Radhakrishnan said.
Sources said that all probation officers of the oil PSUs has been asked to report for work regularly, otherwise their services would be be terminated.
Mathura, Chennai, Haldia and Panipat oil refineries will be opened shortly.
"All states have invoked the Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA)", said Indian Oil Corporation Chairman, Sarthak Behuria said on Friday, Jan 9 while addressing the press. Meanwhile, Home Minister, P Chidambaram will meet the strikers' officer on Friday, Jan 9.
