London, Jan 2: Cancer stricken Jade Goody will undergo an emergency operation to repair a blocked kidney on Friday, Jan 2, according to reports.
The cause of the blockage is unclear but if untreated it can lead to kidney failure. The 27-year-old star, who was diagnosed with cervical cancer August 2008, will undergo the surgery at the Royal Marsden Hospital, central London. “It needed to be done straight away," The Sun quoted a source as saying.
“Doctors will see how she feels afterwards before deciding if she can leave hospital," the source added.Doctors have also revealed that chemotherapy drugs had cut her infection-fighting blood cells. “Because she is so prone to infection, every op becomes more serious than it would be for a healthy person.
“Jade is being brave and trying to remain upbeat but it"s a worrying time," the source added.
