New Delhi, Dec 9: The lone surviving terrorist who was in the team who carried out the Nov 26 Mumbai terror attacks Azam Amir Kasav has revealed that the Lashkar-e-Toiba planned and trained its cadres at the Muridke camp near Lahore. During interrogation Kasav recounted the events that led to the attacks in Mumbai that claimed 200 lives.

It is learnt that Kasav had told investigators that he was a small time thief before joining LeT. He got his training at LeT's Muridke camp in a batch of 32 commandos. Among these, 13 people were selected for special training to carryout 26/11. During training his gang watched films on the Chhattrapati Shivaji Terminal (CST) and other major locations in Mumbai.

He added that when they left for Mumbai from Karachi, each of them was carrying an AK 47, two magazine, 8 grenades and mobile phones. He recalled that some were also carrying explosives. Revealing the plan of attack, he said, once they reached the targeted buildings, the plan was to take hostages and get to rooftops. They had also planned to contact television channels and place their demands. However, the ultimate objective was to blow the buildings they occupied.

An English daily, The Observer reported that Kasav's claim that he belongs to Pakistan is true. It reports that Kasav's house is about 100 kilometers from Lahore. His parents Mohammed Amir and Noor Elahi, are on the voters list of Faridkot.
