Istanbul, Dec.6 (ANI): Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari, who is on an official visit to Turkey, has said that his country is determined to carry on fighting terrorists on its soil, and added that last week's attacks in Mumbai, will not affect Pakistan's efforts to combat the menace.
"The focus of the government of Pakistan has been anti-terror....We will continue with our fight against the perpetrators and stateless actors of terrorism," the Dawn quoted Zardari, as saying.
Pakistan, he said, is awaiting 'concrete proof' from India that a Pakistan-based group was behind the attacks as part of its own investigation into the bloodshed.
"Our position is that we have always been and still are the victims of terrorism," Zardari said.
Turkish President Abdullah Gul said that he and Zardari had discussed the tensions between Islamabad and New Delhi after last week's attacks in Mumbai.
"We jointly condemn the Mumbai attacks," the Turkish president said.
Afghan President Hamid Karzai told reporters that ties with Pakistan had improved 'extremely well' since the election of his counterpart Zardari in September.
They also approved plans for trilateral co-operation between their militaries and intelligence agencies on counter-terrorism, the establishment of a joint mechanism against drug smuggling and possible joint military and police training courses. (ANI)
