Rs 5 cut in petrol price, Diesel cut by Rs 2

New Delhi, Dec 4: Govt on Friday, Dec 5 has cut petrol price by Rs 5 and diesel by Rs 2 a litre starting midnight tonight.

As an interim measure, the government has decided to cut the prices with effect from midnight tonight, Petroleum Minister Murli Deora said in New Delhi. There is no change in the prices of LPG (cooking gas) and kerosene.

Petroleum Minister Murli Deora announced the same after a meeting with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

No immediate hike in petrol, diesel prices: Govt

New Delhi, July 3: Petroleum Minister Murli Deora today ruled out any immediate hike in petrol and diesel prices. ''Right now, there is no plan to increase the petrol and diesel prices,'' the minister told reporters here after reports that the Government was considering a Rs 2 per litre hike in petrol and Re 1 a litre raise in diesel prices. Murli Deora to attend SCO Summit at Bishkek

New Delhi, Aug 13: Petroleum Minister Murli Deora will lead the Indian delegation at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit of Heads of State/Government in Kyrgyzstan's capital Bishkek on August 16.
