'Pop up' plan to deploy CSF for MP polls: EC

Bhopal, Nov 21: The Election Commission has introduced a 'pop up' plan for the deployment of Central Security Forces (CSF) for November 27 Assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh, said state Chief Electoral Officer J S Mathur.

Mr Mathur said the central forces, which used to be deployed in the polling booths henceforth, now the force could be deployed to other places too under the new plan called 'pop up' plan.

''Under this plan, the central forces will patrol at senstitive and critical polling booths, which are identifed under newly introduced 'Vulnerable Mapping' system and no specific areas have been earmarked as they can move any polling booth any time,'' Mr Mathur said adding that the state police could also be deployed in booths.

He said several strong measures were taken in deployment of police forces, particularly in the bordering districts and nxalite-infested areas in the state.

Mr Mathur said 32 companies of police forces from Chhattisgarh, had already been deployed and the rest of the companies would arrive today. He said an additional 1,000 security force would also be deployed to ensure free and fair poll in the state.

MP: 5 tribals selected for higher studies abroad

Bhopal, Mar 9:  Five tribal students from Madhya Pradesh have been selected for higher studies abroad on state government scholarship.It is mandatory for the selected students to enrol abroad within two years or their selection will be treated as cancelled, official sources said today.The students selected by a committee constituted by the state government include Miss Kanta Sonwane, Dr Umesh Kumar Patil, Ms Kirti Solanki, Mr Ashish Kumar Anand and Mr Raju Kumar Koria.UNI.....
