'Chinnara Habba' sets off on a grand scale

Bangaluru, Nov 21: Four days of fun, competitions and entertainment -- aimed at impressing upon children the importance of communal harmony -- began on Thursday, Nov 21. This year's Chinnara Habba was inaugurated after a children's rally at Palace Grounds.

Exciting games, talent hunt, adventure zone and over 100 stalls are attracting hordes of kids and parents. While some contests carry cash prizes, winners of others will take home gift hampers. Free lucky draw coupons are available. With something for every member of the family, the final winner will take back a holiday package.

Stalls offer online coaching for board exams, computer lessons and spark interest in science, engineering and mathematics through hobby electronics and robotics. Imitation-jewellery stalls are also aplenty.

While teenagers check these out, parents can keep tots occupied with balloon toys and look around for household items: washing machines, chimneys, sewing machines, microwave ovens, wardrobes and more.

When hunger strikes, head to the cafeteria that offers a plethora of eats, including soups, snacks, ice-creams and beverages. Taste the flavours of different cultures, or snack on instant noodles or corn flakes at special prices.
