Mumbai, Nov 14: Global software systems manufacturer 'Oracle' on Friday, Nov 14 launched its Value Added Distributor (VAD) Remarketer Programme for the country's small and medium businesses (SMBs).
Under VAD, Oracle will offer a simplified and free access for SMBs, who constitute 37 per cent of the country's IT market to Oracle's products and systems without need to join its authorized Oracle Partner Network (OPN) through its authorized VADs listed on its OPN site-www.oracle.com.
The company has roped in Tech Pacific, subsidiary of US-based Ingram Micro, the world's leading IT distribution company for technical and logistics support. Tech Pacific India's operations, has a network of more than 45 distribution centres in 28 states with 10,000 plus registered partners, will handle acceptance and delivery of orders.
Under the tie-up, Tech Pacific will select Value Added Resellers (VARs) from its pool of registered partners to provide the link to SMB and fulfill orders within 48 hours.
Oracle Distribution and Commercial Sales Senior Director Sukhdeep Singh said, ''Customers will find that our products will help the SMBs to cut costs and increase efficiency to meet the need of the times.'' Though the VAD programme was targetted at SMBs, the company has not put any restrictions for larger companies to avail of the programme.
With a 59 per cent of the SMB segment using Oracle products according to ICD, the company will leverage its position in the market to expand its reach with its database, application, business intelligence, content management products, Mr Singh said.
