A-Star to be launched in October: Maruti Suzuki India

New Delhi, Sep 4: Country's leading car maker Maruti Suzuki India Ltd said the launch of its much coveted A-Star is on schedule and its exports will begin in December this year. ''We had planned to launch the A-star model in the domestic market in October and that is on schedule and we will start exports from December or January,'' company Managing Director Shinzo Nakanishi told reporters here.

Initially, the car will be exported to Europe, he added.

New Delhi, Sep 2: Announcing its re-entry into the European market, the country's largest automaker Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL) on Tuesday, Sep 1 said it plans to export over 2,00,000 units of its new model A-Star by 2010-11. The car, equipped with new one-litre petrol engine, will make its debut in the country within a few weeks and then enter the European market early next year. Maruti Q2 net dips 36.5 pc at Rs 296 crores

New Delhi, Oct 24: On account of rising input costs and rupee depreciation, country's biggest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL) on Friday, Oct 24 reported a decline of 36.52 per cent in its net profit at Rs 296.10 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, compared to Rs 466.50 crore during the corresponding period last year.
