'Dasara to be celebrated with pomp and glory'

Mysore, Sep 2: Karnataka Rural Development, Panchayat Raj and Mysore District Incharge Minister Shobha Karandlaje on Wednesday, Sep 3 said the world famous Dasara festivities this year would be celebrated with all pomp and glory without compromising on any of its traditions.

Addressing the official meeting with Dasara sub-committee chairman, MLAs and elected representatives to review the progress of the works in connection with the festivities, she asked them to prepare a list of requirements in another three days and submit it to the government for necessary action.

She also announced the state government had sanctioned Rs 10 crore for the festivities.

Stating the Dasara festivities had already been declared as 'Nadahabba,' she said apart from all state government heads, the committee would invite royal families in the country and honour them on the occasion.

The committee had decided to give wide publicity for festivities not only in the country but also abroad in as many as 20 languages apart from websites.
