New Delhi, Aug 30: Ace jumper Anju Bobby George has come under strong criticism from legendary runner Milkha Singh who has demanded that strong action must be taken against the former Arjuna awardee for her worst ever performance at the Beijing Olympics.

Talking to mediapersons here, Milkha said, ''I am very disappointed with Anju. She has been a professional jumper for so many years and could not record even a single valid jump. I think the IOA (Indian Olympic Association) and AFI (Athletics Federation of India) should take an action against her.'' ''The government has spent crores of rupees on her and if this what has to show, I think she should be answerable for her poor performance which has saddened not only me but millions of Indians as well,'' the 'Flying Sikh' said.

''We do not lack talent and facilities in the country at the moment. But still our athletes could not even match any of their counterparts and this needs to be reviewed if we have get medals in future,'' he added.

However, the legendary runner was all praise for the Sports Minister M S Gill and said he was very impressed with the way he is looking after the sports in the country.

''M S Gill has done a great job so far. It is a great gesture from him when he says, 'I am ready to spend millions and billions of rupees at the cost of medals,'' Milkha Singh said.
