MOTO brings Abhishek, Jean together on remix

Mumbai, Aug 27 (UNI) Telecom product and service provider Motorola Inc has brought together its brand ambassador Abhishek Bachchan and Grammy Award-winning international musician Wyclef Jean on a remix of ''Hollywood meets Bollywood''.

The remix from Jean's album, 'Carnival, Vol 2, Memoirs of an Immigrant', will be available exclusively on Motorola's digital music service 'MOTOMUSIC' till September 14 for the user, a company statement said.

Bollywood composer Aadesh Shrivastava has collaborated with Wyclef Jean to bring an authentic Bollywood feel to the track, which will also be available for download to consumers, personal computers at the current rate of Rs 20 from the web portal, the statement stated.

''We believe Abhishek and Wyclef have created a unique sound that India will love,'' said Faisal Siddiqui, Director (Products and Solutions, India and South West Asia) of Motorola Mobile Devices.

Malaysia's Anwar makes a comeback as opposition leader

Singapore, Aug 27 (UNI) Former Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has scored a landslide win to return to Parliament as an opposition leader with a 15,671 vote majority from the Permatang Pauh parliamentary seat last night. The 61-year old de facto opposition leader took 31,195 votes from his home base constituency, defeating the challenger from the ruling coalition Barisan Nasional (BN). BN's candidate Arif Shah Omar Shah, 51, obtained 15,524 votes and a third contender.....

S'pore awards doctorate to Dr Kalam

Singapore, Aug 27: Former Indian President A P J Abdul Kalam has been awarded an honourary Doctor of Engineering degree from Singapore's Nanyang Technological University (NTU). The NTU said the honourary degree has been conferred on Dr Kalam in recognition of his life-long achievements in serving India, his international reputation in Science and Technology, and his role in improving India-Singapore relations. Dr Kalam, who received the degree from President S R Nathan yesterday, also discussed the new Nalanda University with Singapore Foreign.....

Indo-US Nuclear deal likely in Sep: Bush

Washington, Aug 27: The Bush Administration is trying hard to get the Indo-US nuclear deal well within its tenure maybe in early September, as the deal is critically important for both the countries. "Our principal focus right now has been on the India civil nuclear deal, having worked through the IAEA, now working through the NSG, and still trying to get into a position to make the appropriate Presidential determinations in early September," US Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice told sources.
