Soldier killed, another injured in north Kashmir encounter

Srinagar, Aug 26 (UNI) A soldier was killed and another was injured in a militant attack in north Kashmir, official sources said today.

They said a security force petrol party was attacked by the militants at Waziran general area of Gogaldor Trehgam in the frontier district of Kupwara in which Lance Naik Lakhi Ram Basumatry was killed and a soldier Lianhming Thanga was injured.

However militants managed to escape.
