MC takes over encroached land by gurdwara committee

Sangrur, Aug 26 (UNI) Tension prevailed in the Sunam sub-division of the district after the local Municipal Corporation on the order of the Punjab and Haryana High Court today demolished the boundry wall constructed by a gurdwara committee over a land allegedly encroached by it at College Road near Rose Garden.

The members of Gurdwara Koko Majar Committee gathered in large numbers and confronted the authorities trying to get the possession of the land. They also tried to block the road. The police resorted to cane charge to disperse the agitated crowd.

The High Court had issued the order in response to a PIL.

However, the president of the Gurdwara Committee Para Singh claimed that the state government had given the land to the Committee 60-70 years back.

HP to liberalise Route Permit Act in Shimla

Shimla, Aug 26 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Government would liberalise the Route Permit Act for sealed and restricted roads in Shimla. School properties seized as per court order

Mysore, Aug 26 (UNI) As per the order by Second Additional Civil Judge court, the properties of a private school was seized today for not paying Salary to a teacher. Teacher Premalatha, now retired, in her petition had complained that she was not paid salary for the period 1996 and 1999 2001 to 2006.
