Kapil Dev cautions Sreeshant to concentrate on his game

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 26 (UNI) While calling S Sreeshant an enterprising cricketer, former India captain Kapil Dev said the pacer should concentrate on his game or nobody else but he will be the one to suffer.

''The boy (Sreesanth) should come back to cricket, otherwise he will be the sufferer and nobody else", Kapil told mediapersons here yesterday.

He said the Kerala lad was a very enterprising cricketer, but he should not forget the basics and deliver on the field.

''Aggression on the field is very good. But, he should also deliver,'' Kapil said. ''You should perform and that is the bottom line.'' However, speaking on the criticisms that cricket in the country was getting more encouragement than other sports, the 'Haryana hurricane' said corporates and media should focus more on the development of sports events other than cricket.

''Cricket will survive. I want the corporates to put money on other sports,'' he added.

Putting words to his statements, he further spoke on the Indian Premier League (IPL) and Indian Cricket League (ICL).

''Let the people of the country judge after watching the game.

However, the IPL was a success in marketing the event,'' he averred.

Kapil, also the Brand Ambassador of West Bengal based SRMB Udyog Ltd, was talking to reporters after signing an MOU between Kerala Small Industries Development Corporation Ltd and SRMB for expanding the marketing network for their products in Kerala.

Infections may be a significant cause of premature births: Study

Washington, Aug 26 : Researchers at the Stanford University School of Medicine have found that previously unrecognised and unidentified infections of amniotic fluid may be a significant cause of premature birth.
