Indian Navy Capt arrested

Ujjain, MP, Aug 26 (UNI) A middle-aged Captain of the Indian Navy has been arrested here for posing as a Senior Deputy General Manager of the Railways, police said.

Capt P K Deshpande, who arrived here from Bhopal by the Jammu-Indore Malwa Express, put up at the Officers' Resthouse thereby availing VIP facilities. After senior Railway officers got wind of the matter, a probe took place and a complaint was lodged with Government Railway Police. Railway officers handed the Captain over to police yesterday.

An identity card was seized and revealed that the Captain is posted at Jabalpur. A woman accompanying him managed to flee.

Gogamedi pilgrims travel on train rooftops

Hisar, Aug 26 (UNI) Devouts, including women and children, were travelling in hordes on the roof of trains to participate in the popular Gogamedi mela despite sizzling heat. ''Never before have we noticed such a huge rush of Gogamedi pilgrims. Inspite of three special trains the passengers are travelling on roof tops risking their lives,'' station superintendent Radhey Shyam Meena said. None of child deaths due to treatment modalities in trials:AIIMS

New Delhi, Aug 26 (UNI) The All India Institute of Medical Sciences today said none of the 49 deaths of children during clinical trials at AIIMS were due to the treatment modalities under trial. ''The deaths in children were due to high risk and serious disease conditions that the children suffered from,''the AIIMS said in a statement. In a release issued here, the AIIMS public relations officer, refuting media reports that the deaths of children were due.....
