Essential supplies arrive in Kashmir Valley

New Delhi, Aug 26 (UNI) About 308 carriers laden with essentials and fuel arrived in Kashmir Valley in the last 24 hours.

As per the information received from the Jammu and Kashmir Government, the supplies included 78 lorry loads of rice, 19 vehicles carrying flour, two with sheep, 18 with sugar, four with fresh fruits and 161 trucks with other commodities.

There were eight tankers carrying diesel, two with kerosene, six each carrying petrol and LPG and four empty trucks also reached the valley during the period.

From the valley 121 trucks and tankers left for different destinations outside the valley during the past 24 hours up.

This included 21 trucks carrying fruits and vegetables and 13 other commodities. About 87 empty tankers returned from the valley after off-loading the fuel, Home Ministry sources said.

Bomb hoax creates panic at Jammu hospital

Jammu, Aug 26 (UNI) Police today launched a search operation in the Government Medical College Hospital, Jammu after an anonymous call was received by the hospital authorities stating that a bomb was placed inside the complex, police sources here said. ''The hospital authorities received a call this evening about the presence of bomb inside the hospital, while panic gripped the hospital and patients along with attendants came out of the building, when the information spread like.....

Centre to rush 100 lakh quintal of wheat and rice to Bihar

New Delhi, Aug 26 (UNI) The Centre will rush 50 lakh quintal of wheat and 50 lakh quintal of rice free of cost as immediate relief to people caught in the unprecendented floods in the Kosi river in border districts of Bihar, Union Minister of State for Agriculture Akhilesh Prasad Singh announced today.
