Braj Mahotsav to be held in Lucknow on Sep 26

Lucknow, Aug 26 (UNI) Braj Foundation, an organisation committed to the development of Braj region of Mathura and Vrindavan, will organise a ' Braj Mahatsov' in the state capital on September 26, where Nizam Brothers would recite Krishna Bhakti bhajans.

Founder of the Braj Foundation Vineet Narain said here yesterday that Braj had been a cultural heritage of the world and it will be projected throughout the country.

''The one-day Braj Mahatsov in Lucknow will project the traditional and religious importance of Mathura and Vrindavan,'' he said.

Mr Narain expressed his gratitude to Mayawati government in Uttar Pradesh which has earmarked Rs 250 crore for development of Mathura and Vrindavan.

He also narrated details of the works done by his Foundation in the development of Kunds and other religious sites in Mathura and Vrindavan with the financial help of industrial houses and Lord Krishna devotees.

HP Governor urges promoting child welfare activities

Shimla, Aug 26: Himachal Pradesh Governor Parbha Rau has asked the state government to submit a pilot project to the Central Government for promoting child welfare activities in the state. She was presiding over the 25th Annual General Meeting of Himachal Pradesh State Child Welfare Council here yesterday. The Governor emphasised the need to launch mass membership enrollment drive to give momentum to the social welfare activities in the state so that maximum members were associated with such activities. New Delhi, Aug 26: The Olympic heroes returned home to a heroic welcome the wee hours of morning, amid high fan fare. The Indian contingent including the two bronze medalists, boxer Vijender Kumar and wrestler Sushil Kumar arrived at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi on Monday, Aug 25 night. Wrestler Sushil kumar was mobbed by his fans and supporters who had come all the way from Najafgarh to welcome their hero. Sushil won a Bronze medal at the Olympics,.....

Zardari says he can't disclose the "whole truth" to the nation

Islamabad, Aug 26 : PPP Co-chairman and presidential hopeful Asif Ali Zardari has said that he wanted PML-N leader and former premier Nawaz Sharif to come back to the coalition fold, and that he "can't disclose the whole truth to the nation".
