AIHUTOA urges Hajis to check tour operator's credentials

Mumbai, Aug 26 (UNI) All India Haj Umrah Tour Organisers Association (AIHUTOA) has urged Haj pilgrims to ensure that their tour operators are registered with the Ministry of External Affairs and the Saudi Arabia Haj Ministry.

Talking to reporters here, AIHUTOA chairman Ebrahim Hasham Kolsawala and President Shoukat Bhai Tamboli said this year nearly 1.57 lakh people will go for Haj. Of them, 1.10 lakh will go through Haj committee and rest 47 thousand through PTOs.

It is in the interest of the pilgrims to check the credentials before they embark on the tour, they said, adding 200 operators were registered with both the governments.

Yesterday, the Supreme Court dismissed a Special Leave Petition filed by new operators to register themselves as PTOs.

BJP asks PM to take up flood control measures in Bihar
