SSN signs MoUs with key bioscience research institutes

Chennai, Aug 22 (UNI) The Department of Biomedical Engineering of Sri Sivasubramania Nadar (SSN) College has signed two key MoUs in the field of Biomedical Science and Research with Phoenix Medical Systems and Sai Bioscience Research Institute, key organisations working in this field.

These MoUs would help to further strengthen academic and collaborative research initiatives in the area of Biomedical Engineering, a release from the college here today said.

With the exponential growth that is being witnessed in this field, this tie-up would facilitate collaborative research between the organisations and provide implant trainings to the students of SSN.

''This is a reiteration of SSN's vision of promoting research related activities across every stream,'' the release added.

Centre did not share expenses for conduct of IFFI: Kamat

Panaji, Aug 22 (UNI) The Centre did not share any of the expenses incurred for the conduct of successive International Film Festivals of India (IFFI) held in Goa, Chief Minister Digambar Kamat informed the Legislative Assembly today. In a written reply to a starred question, the Mr Kamat said the state had incurred Rs 14.63 crore in the year 2006-07 and Rs 11.66 crore in 2007-08 on different heads. Goa to constitute law commission to review state laws

Panaji, Aug 22 (UNI) Goa Chief Minister Digambar Kamat today assured the state Legislative Assembly that he would constitute a state-level law commission to examine various laws of the state so that they could be reviewed and amended, if necessary.
