Sonia nominates new office bearers for Nagaland

New Delhi, Aug 22 (UNI) Congress president Sonia Gandhi today nominated new office bearers, including five vice-presidents, four general secretaries and four secretaries, for the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee.

Mr Nillo Rengma, Mr Ayangba Aonok, Mr Zachilhu Vadeo, Mr R L Akhumba and Capt Hekiye Sema would be the new vice-presidents of the NPCC, AICC in-charge of Organisation Janardhan Dwivedi said here today. Mr Panna Lal Sethi would be the treasurer.

The new general secretaries are Mr Medokul Sophie, Mr K Kakheho Sukhalu, Mr Yankithung and Mr S Supongmeren Jamir.

Mr Aheto Yeptho, Mr Jonathan, Ms Alema and Mr Asole Zelian would be the new secretaries.

Tibetans discuss the future course of their struggle in Dharamsala

Dharamsala, August 22 : Tibetan Non-Government Organisations held a seminar on Friday in Dharamsala to discuss the future strategy of the Tibetan struggle. The members of four leading NGOs namely Students for Free Tibet, Tibetan Women Association, National Democratic Party of Tibet and Gu-Chu-Sum got together to decide the future course of Tibetan struggle. Sharif agrees to wait for judges reinstatement till Wednesday

Islamabad, Aug.22 : Pakistan Muslim League-N leader Nawaz Sharif today said that his party would wait till Wednesday for the sacked judges to be restored. Denying the the PML-N-PPP coalition was breaking up, he said there was a written deal with Asif Zardari that judges would be restored within 24 hours after Musharraf's resignation, but this had failed to take place. Mamata wants return of 400 acres in Singur

Kolkata, Aug 22 : Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee today said she would not budge from her stand of demanding the 400 acres of land taken for the TATA Nano project in Singur. Reacting to Ratan Tata's statement that the TATA Group could be thinking about exiting from the Nano project in the interest of the safety of its employees, Banerjee said, "We don't want anybody to move out of West Bengal, but at the same time, we will not bow.....
