New Delhi, Aug 22 (UNI) Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee has conveyed his heartiest congratulation to Vijender Kumar, who won a bronze medal for India at the Beijing Olympics today.
''The successes achieved by Vijender and Sushil would go a long way in inspiring the youth and children across the country, particularly the hidden talents in rural India,'' he said, Vijender, who lost to Emillio Corrrea Bayeaux of Cuba in the semifinals of the middleweight (75kg) category, became the first Indian boxer to clinch a medal at the Olympics.
