Reference rate fixed at Rs 43.38 per US Dollar

Mumbai, Aug 22 (UNI) The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) today fixed the reference rate for US dollar at Rs 43.38 per unit, 20 paise less against yesterday's rate of Rs 43.58 per dollar.

The reference rate for Euro was up by three paise at Rs 64.55 per unit from previous close of Rs 64.52 per unit, an RBI release said.

The exchange rates for Pound and Japanese Yen against the Rupee were quoted at Rs 81.3418 (81.4314) per Pound and Rs 39.84 (40.05) per 100 units of Yen.

Russia suspends military cooperation with NATO

Moscow, Aug 22 (UNI) Russian has temporarily suspended military cooperation with NATO ahead of a political decision being made. ''Cooperation with NATO is a complex issue, and until Russia's political leaders have made a decision on what is involved, the Defence Ministry has suspended military cooperation with the alliance,'' Russia's envoy to NATO Dmitry Rogozin said yesterday. RIA Novosti news agency reported Rogozin will return to Moscow from Brussels today for discussions with the Russian leadership.....

Tripura civil force man kills himself after shooting his colleague

Agartala, Aug 22 (UNI) A Special Police Officer (SPO) was allegedly shot himself after shooting his colleague in West Tripura yesterday following a dispute over a mobile phone set.
