Rain continues to wreak havoc in Patna

Patna, Aug 22 (UNI) Several parts of the state capital were waterlogged after more than 40.6 mm rain lashed the city since last night.

As a result of intermittent heavy downpour, continued for nearly a week now, rain water has entered into many houses in several low- lying areas of the city including those at Dariyapur, Kankarbag, Srikrishna Nagar and Rajendra Nagar.

However, efforts were on to pump out the accumulated water, official sources here today said.

Forecasting more shower during the next few days, the local Met office recorded the day's maximum temperature at 31.5 degrees Celsius and the minimum at 26.3 degrees Celsius.

KASSIA moots establishment of MSME Varsity

Bangalore, Aug 22 (UNI) Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association (KASSIA) today mooted establishment of a separate university for the benefit of Micro, Small and Medium Entrepreneurs (MSME), KASSIA President Arvind N Burji said today. Rain poses power supply interruption threat

Lucknow, Aug 22: Power supply in North India is facing the danger of ''complete shatter'' as a power grid of the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) was completely inundated, following heavy downpour. The NTPC's northern area grid at Lucknow-Kursi Marg has been affected by the incessant rainfall. Power supply in northern region might also face disruption, if the equipment gets wet, reports from Barabanki stated. Several prominent rivers, including the Ganga, Yamuna, Gomti, Sharda, Ghagra, Ramganga, Gandhak and Behgul have taken an upward.....

Vice-President greets people on Janmashtami
