President to visit Kolkata on Aug 23-24

New Delhi, Aug 22 (UNI) President Pratibha Devisingh Patil will visit Kolkata for two days from tomorrow.

She is visiting West Bengal for the first time after assuming office at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The President would participate in the celebrations of 225 years of the Asiatic Society, Kolkata, tomorrow and the 150 years celebrations of the Uttarpara Jai Krishna Public Library at Hooghly on August 24.

She would return to Delhi after the library function, a Rashtrapati Bhavan spokesperson said today.

Flood situation remains grim in North Bihar

Patna, Aug 22: The flood situation in North Bihar continued to remain grim as most of the rivers maintained their rising trend for the third day on Friday, Aug 22 inundating fresh areas.
