Police official sent on leave following protest

Madikeri, Aug 22 (UNI) People demanding the suspension of a sub inspector at Siddapur called off their agitation yesterday as the Superintendent of Police has sent the 'tainted' sub inspector Devendra on compulsory leave.

President of the Sarvajanika Hitarakshana Samithi, K K Srinivas told in a press conference at Siddapur today that they were calling off the six day protest as the concerned officer is sent on leave and the arrested CoC secretary Satya is released on bail.

He demanded the transfer of Circle inspector Krishnakumar and DySP Shashikumar as police had 'intentionally' booked a case against the editor of a weekly newspaper, Vasanth, his wife and a relative Satya under Untouchables Act.

Vasanth's wife and Satya were arrested in the case, while Vasanth was in hiding.

London, Aug 22 : Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) can significantly improve well being in women with menopausal symptoms, such as hot flushes and night sweats, according to researchers. In the study involving 5692 healthy women aged 50-69, about 3 out of 4 women, who complained of night sweats and hot flushes, found that these symptoms had vanished after a year of HRT use.
