Mush can leave Pak, I will not stop him: Nawaz

Washington, Aug 22: Musharraf can stay or leave, says Nawaz Sharif. Even though, Musharraf toppled his government in a military coup on Oct 12, 1999 and bundled him out of Pakistan. What goes around, comes around, Musharraf Sir...

"If he wants to go, I won't stand in his way. He might want to take a break," the Daily Times quoted Nawaz as saying in an interview with the Wall Street Journal (WSJ). Nawaz also said that if his party decides to sit in the Opposition after moving out of the PPP-led federal government over the issue of reinstatement of deposed judges, he would not work towards destabilizing the government.

"We will not try to bring the government down. But, of course we then have no choice but to sit in the opposition. I would very much like to see this coalition stay in tact. I would be the last person who wants to see it disintegrating," he added.

He said Pakistan People's Party Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari had earlier assured him that the sacked judges would be reinstated within 24 hours of Musharraf's impeachment.
