Modernisation in Delhi station affects train movements in Orissa

Bhubaneswar, Aug 22 (UNI) East Coast Railway(ECoR) today cancelled, short terminated and diverted some New Delhi bound trains due to modernisation work at New Delhi Railway Station.

ECoR sources here said the 2421 Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express leaving Bhubaneswar on September 10 and 2422 New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express leaving New Delhi on September 12 would remain cancelled.

The 2801 Puri-New Delhi Purusottam Express leaving Puri from September 9 to 12 will be short terminated and run up to Kanpur.

In the return direction 2802 New Delhi-Puri Purusottam Express scheduled to leave New Delhi from September 11 to 14 will originate from Kanpur instead of New Delhi.

The 2815 Puri-New Delhi Super Fast Express scheduled to leave Puri on September 10 and 11 will run up to Kanpur and this train scheduled to leave Puri on September 13 will run up to Ghaziabad.

In the return direction, 2816 New Delhi-Puri Super Fast scheduled to leave New Delhi on September 11 and 13 will originate from Kanpur instead of New Delhi .

The 2875 Puri-New Delhi Neelachal Express scheduled to leave Puri on September 9 and 12 will run up to Kanpur instead of New Delhi.

Similarly, in the return direction, 2876 New Delhi-Puri Neelachal Express scheduled to leave New Delhi on September 12 and 14 will originate from Kanpur instead of New Delhi.

The 2819 Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Orissa Sampark Kranti Express scheduled to leave Bhubaneswar on September 10 will run up to Delhi Junction instead of New Delhi.

In the return direction, 2820 New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Orissa Sampark Kranti Express scheduled to leave New Delhi on September 12 towards Bhubaneswar will originate from Delhi Station.

The 8507 Visakhapatnam-Amritsar Hirakud Express scheduled to leave Visakhapatnam on September 5, 6, 9, 12 and 13 will be diverted via Mathura, Alwar, Rewari, Satrod, Jakhal and Dhuri instead of running on its original path.

In the return direction, 8508 Amritsar-Visakhapatnam Hirakud Express scheduled to leave Amritsar on September 6,7,10,13, and 14 will also diverted via Mathura, Alwar, Rewari, Satrod, Jakhal and Dhuri instead of running on its original path.

All stoppages for this train between Mathura and Ludhiana will be eliminated during the diversion period.

Soz assures Badal of early nod to Punjab's projects

New Delhi, Aug 22 (UNI) Union Minister for Water Resources Saifuddin Soz today assured Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal of Centre's early decision on various projects and proposals submitted by the State government to his Ministry. Punjab government has sought release of first instalment of funds for Sirhind feeder canal besides approval of project for rehabilitation of major canals in the state. It also requested funds for Shahpur Kandi Dam and to undertake flood.....

Police stations to have helipad in naxal-infested district of UP

Mirzapur, Aug 22 (UNI) With a view to curb naxal activities in the naxal-infested Sonbhadra district, the Uttar Pradesh government has permitted the district administration to construct helipads in the police stations premises. IG (Varanasi area) Praveen Singh today told newspersons that the UP government has granted permission for constructing helipads in the police station premises, besides, strengthening of buildings, widening of roads and others such provisions. The Central government has sanctioned Rs 15 crore.....

Govt not to involve in land acquisition for pvt industries

Hyderabad, Aug 22 (UNI) In a major policy decision, the Andhra Pradesh government has decided not to make any 'large scale' acquisition of land for private industries henceforth, Revenue Minister D Prasada Rao said today. ''Land owners are free to negotiate with the private parties and sell their lands only if they are satisfied with the price offered. The government will not invoke the provisions of Land Acquisition Act for the benefit of private parties,'' he told.....
