Maya indifferent to public woes; pampering self with public funds'

Lucknow, Aug 22 (UNI) Lambasting Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati for extravagantly spending public funds for parks and monuments, Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav said Ms Mayawati is least interested in public grievances as her prime objective is installing her idols and constructing Ambedkar Park and monuments, where Rs 3,000 crore had been invested so far.

While addressing advocates and intellectual of the upper strata, Mr Yadav said the BSP government has mocked constitutional provisions and democracy.

She has robbed of the public funds and misusing it for self interests. She had installed her idols and constructed parks and monuments with huge public money, Mr Yadav said.

He said SP had been working for public and would continue its struggle against the ''anti-people'' government till it is uprooted.

He further called upon lawyers and intellectuals to support him in the good cause.

Nearly 200 lawyers, including Lucknow Bar Association former president Vijay Tiwari and Shiv Sena former state president, were inducted into the party.
