Kolkata Knight Riders selection trials on Aug 26-27

Mumbai, Aug 22 (UNI) Omtex Sports Academy has announced a Talent Hunt for the team of Kolkata Knight Riders in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) tournament-2009.

Omtex's Managing Director Vijay Patel said budding youngsters in the age group of under-17, 19, 22 will be selected through this unique talent hunt. The selection process will be conducted on August 26 and 27 at the Goregaon Sports Club here, a release said here today.

The chief coach of Kolkata Knight Riders and the former successful coach of the Australian cricket team, John Buchanan, will select the players, who will get an opportunity of special coaching in Australia, in addition to representing the Kolkata Knight Riders, the release added.

SCs, others to own houses on shamalat land in Punjab

Chandigarh, Aug 22 (UNI) Punjab Government has decided to allot the ownership of pre-occupied part of Shamlat land to Scheduled Castes and Vimakut Jatis including Bajigars, who had constructed their houses before August 15,2008. Russia not to consult Saakashvili on buffer zone in breakaway region

Moscow, Aug 22 (UNI) Russia will not hold any consultations with Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili on the parameters of the buffer zones in Georgia's breakaway regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
