Mumbai, Aug 22 (UNI) Kingfisher Training Academy (KTA) of Kingfisher Airlines has come up with a novel concept of 'Virtual University', leveraging the power of Internet, to impart interactive and integrated training effectively.
Deployed to train thousands of students aspiring for a high flying career in aviation and hospitality service industry, the Virtual University is the fulcrum of the academy. It provides a real-time centralised point for accessing, managing and monitoring all aspects of training including content, courses, students, instructors and assessments - across various training centers in the country.
Powered by ElixirCT, a leading Boston-based technology company, the Virtual University is built using a mix of robust, state-of-the-art technologies, and offers multiple functionalities presented to the end users through a simple, login-based interface that is secure and easy to use.
''Kingfisher Training Academy has taken the lead in leveraging the power of Internet by introducing the 'Virtual University' -- a next-generation software that takes training beyond traditional talk and chalk, a solution that is adopted by the leading universities around the globe to make their trainings effective, interactive, and integrated, said Kunal Vasudeva, business head of KTA, while talking to reporters here today.
''Our Virtual University enhances our capability to impart and administer training programmes effectively and easily across our geographic spread. The University offers two courses of six months and 12 months duration that are available at the fees of Rs one lakh and Rs 1.25 lakh respectively. While the six months course will be useful and concetrated mainly on aviation industry, other course will be applicable for hospitality industry.
The university will be based and operated from Navi Mumbai. The KTA has 11 branches in all major metros and other major cities.
