Pune, Aug 22 (UNI) Heavy to very heavy rains are likely to occur at many places in Andaman and Nicobar islands and Orissa.
Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Jharakhand, east Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. They are likely to occur at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, east Rajasthan, east Madhya Pradesh, Konkan, Goa, north coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, coastal and south interior Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep. They are also likely to occur at isolated places in Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, west Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Gujarat state, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and north interior Karnataka.
The south-west monsoon has been active in Orissa and Tamil Nadu.
It has been subdued in West Bengal, Sikkim, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat state, Marashtra, Goa, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Karnataka and Kerala.
Heavy rains have occurred at a few places in Assam and Meghalaya.
