Ganja plants worth over Rs One lakh seized

Mysore, Aug 22 (UNI) Police today seized ganja plants worth about Rs One lakh at Devalapura in the District and arrested one person in this connection.

Police said during a raid following information, it was found that the arrested Giriyappa had cultivated ganja along with cotton crop.

Kaithal, Aug 22 (UNI) The court of Additional Session Judge here today sentenced a poppy husk smuggler to ten years' rigrous imprisonment (RI) and imposed a fine of Rs one lakh after convicting him under the NDPS Act. Chandigarh, Aug 22 (UNI) Justice Nirmal Yadav of the Punjab and Haryana High Court here has proceeded on leave and did not hold court today amid reports that her name figured in the context of alleged ''erroneously'' delivered Rs 15 lakh cash at another lady Judge's residence having a similar name last week by the clerk of a former Additional Advocate General of Haryana Sanjeev Bansal.
