Dawood is 'Samrat' of real estate business in Pakistan

Mumbai, Aug 22 (UNI) Underworld don Dawood Ibrahim is the 'Samrat' of the real estate business in Pakistan and has made huge investments in the Stock market.

This disclosure was made by Dawood's close aide Karimullah Khan, during sustained overnight interrogation by top police officers after his arrest yesterday.

Speaking to mediapersons here today, deputy commissioner of police Deven Bharati said Khan told the investigating agencies that Dawood is staying in ''Cliffton' tower in Karachi, along with his family members.

Khan had also revealed that retired military officers of Pakistan Army used to visit Dawood's place to discuss some confidential issues and he used to provide them some information, he said.

Dawood was also having good 'reputation and rapport' with the business community in Pakistan, Khan disclosed.

Khan, who was among the most wanted in 1993 serial bomb blasts, was arrested from Nallasopara in neighbouring Thane district. A red corner notice was issued and there was an reward of Rs five lakh for information on his whereabouts. He had played a vital role in the landing of the explosives in Raigard district in 1993 before the blasts and had sent youths to Pakistan for weapon training.

After the blast, he went to Karachi via Dubai and stayed there till 2006 with Dawood and his brother Anees, he said.

In 2006, he returned to India via Kathamandu and stayed for a year at Mira Road in Thane district and thereafter shifted to Nallasopara.

Educate rural pregnant women to utilise 108 service: Vyas

Meghalaya CM calls for reoriented civil services

Shillong, Aug 22 (UNI) Meghalaya Chief Minister Donkupar Roy today called for reorienting the civil services and training it to deliver better services to the people. Govt increases fund allocation for latrines under TSC in XI Plan

New Delhi, Aug 22 (UNI) Rural Development Minister Raghuvansh Prasad Singh today announced the initiatives taken to boost the Total Sanitation Campaign (TSC) in the Eleventh Plan.
