Cong not to declare name of CM candidate for MP Assly polls

Chhindwara, MP, Aug 22 (UNI) The Congress has decided not to announce its chief ministerial candidate for the upcoming assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, party general secretary V Narayan Sami said today.

Talking to reporters here before addressing the party workers' conference, Mr Sami said the Antony Committee had suggested not to project any particular leader as Chief Minister in the assembly elections.

He said the Congress had its own tradition for choosing the Chief Minister wherein elected legislators inform their choice to Congress President who takes the final decision.

Referring to the BJP, Union Commerce and Industries Minister Kamal Nath said, ''There is no need for us to imitate anyone else.

Our foremost target is to form government in the state.'' Union Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology Jyotiraditya Scindia said corruption, deteriorating law and order situation and power crisis would be main poll planks during the next assembly polls. He said the Centre would soon rein in inflation.

He claimed that the Congress would win next assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh.

State Congress President Suresh Pachouri said the state-level coordination committee meeting discussed electoral strategy, preparation of election manifesto, poll campaigning and other topics.

Tibetans discuss the future course of their struggle in Dharamsala

Dharamsala, August 22 : Tibetan Non-Government Organisations held a seminar on Friday in Dharamsala to discuss the future strategy of the Tibetan struggle. Sharif agrees to wait for judges reinstatement till Wednesday
