CII expresses concern over West Bengal situation on Nano project

Mumbai, Aug 22 (UNI) The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) today cautioned that any adverse development with regard to the Tata Motors Nano plant in Singur will lead West Bengal to an age of industrial vacuum.

In a statement here, the premier industry body of the country expressed deep concern about the situation in that state and said any adverse development would irreversibly hamper the future industrialisation of West Bengal. The CII stressed that the most urgent need of the day was an immediate solution through dialogue.

CII Director General Chandrajit Banerjee said in the statement that ''Industrialisation is critical for the development of social infrastructure as also rural development. The development of the state and the country cannot suffer due to any political differences.'' CII said ''Peace , Law and Order and stability are all pre-requisites for Industrial Investments which would take the State's economy ahead. Torrential rain disrupts traffic on Hindustan-Tibet Road

Rape-murder convict asked to serve water in school

Kerala to set up electronic industrial park
