'Cash for Judge' namesake Judge proceeds on leave

Chandigarh, Aug 22 (UNI) Justice Nirmal Yadav of the Punjab and Haryana High Court here has proceeded on leave and did not hold court today amid reports that her name figured in the context of alleged ''erroneously'' delivered Rs 15 lakh cash at another lady Judge's residence having a similar name last week by the clerk of a former Additional Advocate General of Haryana Sanjeev Bansal.

Though there was officially no word in this regard, indications were that it was after receipt of interim report of police investigations into the matter by the Chief Justice T S Thakur that the lady Judge took the step on moral grounds and in the interest of justice.

Municipalities in Mah given "A" ratings

Mumbai, Aug 22 (UNI) Four of the municipalities in Maharashtra have secured 'A' ratings in a countrywide long-term issuer ratings of 13 urban local bodies (ULBs), commissioned by the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM), Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD). Pak army to continue with bleed India policy; Parthasarathi

New Delhi, Aug 22 (UNI) Former Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan G Parthasarathi today said Pakistan army would use inter-services intelligence (ISI) agency to continue its "corporate policy" of "strategic depth in Afghanistan" and "bleeding India".
