BJP members arrested for demonstrating on Amarnath issue

Vijaywada,Aug 22 (UNI) As many as 90 Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) activists and its local leaders were arrested when they staged a demonstration at the Sub-Collector's office here today over the Amarnath issue.

Police said the BJP leaders, headed by Srinivasa Raju, raised slogans on the issue and demanded that the land alloted by the Jammu and Kashmir(J&K) Government to the Amarnath Shrine Board be returned.

They also demanded the recall of the J &K Governor N N Vohra and reconstruction of Amarnath Board Yatra Samithi.

The leaders denounced the stand taken by Mr Vohra in cancelling the allotment of land to the Board.

Normal supply of diesel will be ensured in TN: Chief Secy
