A woman dies, another injured in road mishap

Phagwara, Aug 22 (UNI) One young woman was killed while her friend sustained critical injuries in a road mishap near here today.

Both were crossing the roads, when a speeding tempo hit them near village Jamalpur on national highway this afternoon.

While Neelam, 25, died on the spot, injured Pooja,32, was rushed to a Jalandhar hospital.

Police has registered a case against the absconding tempo driver.

APMCs in Karnataka would be computerised: Minister

Hubli, Aug 22 (UNI) Karnataka Minister for Agriculture Marketing S Tangadgi today said that all the Agriculture Produce Marketing Committees (APMC) in the State would be computerized shortly to augment the administration.
