1 hurt in bomb explosion in Ratlam

Ratlam, Aug 22: One person was injured when a home-made bomb exploded at Rajiv Gandhi Centre here on Friday, Aug 22.

The victim was identified as Bhanwar Singh, police said, adding that a live bomb was also recovered from the spot.

The explosion took place around 8 30 am, police added.

MP: 10 yrs' imprisonment for smuggling heroin

Ratlam (MP), Mar 25: A local court today sentenced two people to 10 years' imprisonment and fined them Rs one lakh each on the charge of smuggling heroin. According to prosecution, Mandsaur-resident Anand and Mumbai-resident Mohammed Nasir were arrested by the Central Narcotics Bureau on March 2, 2004, with 1.5 kg heroin and 1.25 kg heroin respectively. Food poisoning: 24 girls hospitalised

Ratlam(MP), Jun 21: A total of 24 girls of a residential school have been hospitalised as they showed symptoms of food poisoning after consuming raw gram. Official sources said the inmates of the residential school conducting bridge course were given raw gram, suspected to be rotten, for breakfast yesterday. Their condition was improving. District Collector Mahendra Gyani said samples of the food items had been collected from the school at Moondi village of this district. UNI.....
